I’d been recently promoted at work, which was fantastic in a way, but privately I was suffering from imposter syndrome. Every day I came to work feeling uncertain that I could do what was required effectively or well. It even seemed that, in my meetings, the people around me were being dismissive of me and over-critical.

It was very good to have a safe coaching environment where I could explore these ideas and assumptions. Mark helped me realise that even in situations where I couldn’t fix everything straight away, I could begin to move towards a better outcome by just choosing one small step or action. This meant I could take a little more ownership of these work relationships, and plan work conversations strategically so I had more clarity about the views of the other party, and could present my own work to them in a positive way.

Mark also reminded me of how useful it is to adopt a mindset of generosity about and towards those around us.

These ideas, applied consistently and followed up in our sessions, helped me negotiate the difficult period of transition into my new role and develop positive and productive relationships with my stakeholder group.
As a coach, Mark stands out through his patience and kindness. He is also very thorough and consistent, and I fully recommend him to anyone considering coaching.
